After five successive qualifications to the Champions League quarter-finals, tonight AC Milan had to bow out in the second round as they went down 2-0 to Arsenal at San Siro.
Following the match, coach Carlo Ancelotti did not feel his side could have any regrets as he could not have asked for anything more from them.
"There's no regret, we could not have done anything more," he admitted, "We did our best, but they were better.
"This is football. Now we have a new objective, which is the fourth place [in the Serie A standings]."
The coach then praised Arsene Wenger's Gunners:
"Throughout the 180 minutes they managed to play the way they know, imposing their style. We couldn't because we are not in top shape."
The Rossoneri, who are currently fifth in Serie A and out of the Coppa Italia, have had a number of players out injured or unfit, including Clarence Seedorf, Marek Jankulovski and of course Ronaldo, while Kaká also barely made it in time for tonight's match.
They must now pick themselves up for a trip to face Empoli on Sunday.
